O događaju

How are our food preferences shaped in childhood, and can we change them as adults?
Most of us assume we simply like what we like. But “taste” is rarely a fixed trait. It is a pattern shaped over time by early exposure, family habits, culture, routines, and the environment we grow up in. Those influences create a personal “taste map” that affects what feels comforting, what feels unfamiliar, and what we automatically choose as adults.
At this TEDxSarajevo Salon, nutrition expert Amela Ivković O'Reilly opens the evening with a 20-minute TEDx-style talk on how food preferences are formed, why they can feel stubborn, and what science suggests about expanding your palate in a realistic, sustainable way. Expect clear explanations, relatable examples, and practical takeaways you can apply without extreme rules or perfection.
After the talk, we transition into a hands-on cooking workshop designed to turn insight into action. With ingredients provided by our partner Biona and guidance from the team at Bistro Zdravo, each attendee will cook a set of simple, healthy recipes that are easy to repeat at home:
•Blueberry cheesecake parfait•Sunflower seed “cheese”•Seed crackers•Salad dressing and salad
This is not a passive tasting. You will cook, learn technique, understand the “why” behind ingredient choices, and leave with a concrete set of recipes and ideas you can use immediately.
Your ticket includes the talk, the guided cooking workshop, all ingredients, and the full recipe set to take home. The Salon is intentionally small and focused so the workshop stays truly hands-on and supported, with space for questions, learning, and a premium experience from start to finish.
